Oh my sweet Anne! I was so happy and honored to be a part of one of my oldest {known!} friends beautiful wedding day. I also got to traveled to one of my favorite states in the whole wide world, Colorado!
Hope you enjoy these beautiful pictures of this beautiful couple…
From the Bride:
“Ever since I was a little girl, I dreamed about my wedding day. I planned out the details to perfection and dreamed up the most amazing wedding day a girl could ask for. I wanted to feel like a princess, but not a princess that had ever been told by Disney; I had my own fairytale idea in mind. My husband and I have known each other forever. In fact, we have gone to the same schools together since sixth grade! We didn’t start dating, though, until our sophomore year of college and have been inseparable ever since. After 8 and a half years of dating, Bryce finally popped the question! I had a year and a half to plan the wedding of my dreams.
Throughout our year and a half engagement, I collected and crafted nearly everything needed for my lifelong vision of my perfect day. I collected ideas from Etsy and Pinterest, and of course pined over page after page of the Style Me Pretty blog! I had recently bought a house where Bryce and I love together and my husband had just started his own business so this put us on a pretty tight budget! I relied on friends to participate in countless craft nights to create every detail and finishing touch. I found the three pantry doors next to a dumpster one day and they were already painted the beautiful green. I collected and borrowed vases from friends and ordered my flowers from wholesale places. Two nights before the wedding, my friends and I gathered in my sisters basement to arrange the bouquets. All 9 of the bridesmaids made their own bouquets, and they turned out beautifully! The Day of the dead cake toppers were made in part by the art teacher where I teach and then one of my bridesmaids painted them and designed them to perfection. She wouldn’t let me see them until the day of the wedding, but I trusted that she would make them just the way I dreamed.
Although our wedding budget was tight, Bryce and I picked up a few extra jobs so I could have the perfect dress! I have driven by Priscilla of Boston more times than I could image and I was in love with their wedding dresses. When it was finally my turn to go dress shopping, I fell in love with the Vera Wang Erin dress. It was waayyy out of my budget, but I knew I had to have it, so I did! Although I had planned on wearing two different shoes throughout the evening, one sparkly pair was for the ceremony (wedges for the grass) and my Christian Louboutins for the reception, I ended up going barefoot the entire time and loved every minute of it. You see, I am a barefoot kind of girl and I didn’t want to do anything for the wedding that wasn’t a representation of my husband and me. We bought canning jars and my sister helped me to place stickers on them with a Grateful Dead quote that doubled as glasses and favors for the guests. ….The vintage music sheets I made the pennant banners out of came from a co-worker’s mother and my students help me cut them and glue them onto string.
One of my favorite moments leading up to the big day, was making my own wedding cake at 3am the day of my wedding. With all of the hustle and bustle, I took that time to just breathe. I sat at my sister’s kitchen table after everyone had gone to sleep, and I baked and iced my cake all by myself. It turned out amazingly beautiful!”
